![]() I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado and a National Certified Counselor. I earned my Master of Arts degree in Professional Psychology from Cleveland State University in 1980 and I’ve been in private practice since 1993. I have close to 30 years of experience, using a wide range of counseling techniques. I am a member of the American Counseling Association and the Colorado Organization for Victim Assistance.
I believe it’s important to fit the counseling technique to the client’s particular issues. I utilize a variety of therapeutic counseling techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), problem-solving therapy, interpersonal therapy and psychodynamic therapy. In addition, I stay current with continuing education. I have participated in many continuing education courses and trainings including:
My strongest assets as a therapist are the warmth, empathy and hopefulness I bring to the process. My clients know that I really care about them and they often respond by working hard to make changes in their lives. Even the teenagers I work with usually figure out that I want them to be happy. I recognize the healing power of laughter and try to incorporate some humor when it’s appropriate. My personal interests include biking, cooking, reading, movies, crossword puzzles and traveling. I love visiting with my children and grandchildren.
